What does it take to create a sound that’s unmistakably your own? Join Grammy-nominated composer, producer and technologist BT for a sound design and synthesis masterclass exploring the intersection of composition, technology and experimentation.
Through conversation and live demonstration, BT will reveal how he transforms simple sounds into something entirely new, unpacking the techniques and creative thinking behind his process. From synthesis and sound design to experimentation and happy accidents, discover how curiosity, technology and a willingness to push beyond the expected can help composers develop a distinctive creative voice.

BT is a Grammy-nominated producer, composer, and technologist. Across a 25+ year career he helped shape modern electronic music, pioneering Trance and IDM without ever letting go of his classical training. He built some of the tools other producers now swear by: Stutter Edit and BreakTweaker for iZotope, Phobos and Polaris for Spitfire Audio. He has made records with David Bowie, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Sting, *NSYNC, and Tiësto, and is currently deep into his 16th artist album. His work spans film scoring (The Fast and the Furious, Monster), global installations (Tomorrowland at Disneyland Shanghai), and emerging creative technology. BT continues to work at the point where electronic composition meets the next generation of music technology.
