Composing is the craft but income is a completely different ballgame. From sync and publishing royalties to library deals and commissions, this panel breaks down how composers build a sustainable income across multiple revenue streams, and what you should have in place right now.
Moderated by Pete Saville, this panel brings together voices from across licensing, rights and representation to break down where composer income actually comes from — and what to have in place before the money starts moving.

Peter Saville’s music career began in 2004 with the founding of Carbon Logic — a recording studio focused on artist development, providing affordable songwriting sessions for UK artists and indie labels.
In 2010 he took on his first TV music supervision project “Excluded”, and has worked in TV & Film music supervision ever since.
In 2024 he was nominated for Best TV Music Supervisor at Los Angeles’ 14th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for Billie Piper & Lucy Prebble’s “I Hate Suzie Too”.
Saville’s success lies in combining three things; his love of discovering new music, a passion for its application to films & the stories they tell, a deep ongoing knowledge of & fascination with music copyright law & licensing.
Some of his supervision highlights include brokering then-unknown Alt J to score feature “Leave To Remain”, bringing Moses Sumney and Gabriels to “Save Me” & “Save Me Too”, clearing all of Mark Ronson’s hits for feature documentary “From The Heart”, securing Bruce Springsteen’s repertoire for 2019 feature “Blinded By The Light”, negotiating The Rolling Stones “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” for the ending of Paramount’s eight part series Sexy Beast and Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” for the titles and official trailer for Amazon Prime’s “Wilderness”.
